The Lao Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Ministry of Public Security are piloting a series of low-cost tools for road and safety data collection and analysis, including tools for capturing streetview imagery (Mapillary), mapping roads and points of interest (Open Street Map), recording and analyzing crash data (DRIVER), and generating rural accessibility statistics (Rural Accessibility Map).
